Chickens for Quang Phu-March 27
Bright and early on March 29 Khanh, others from Hearts for Hue, and I headed over to the village of Quang Phu, where officials and recipients were awaiting chicken distribution. After a couple brief talks, it was time to get started.

The 15 recipients are selected by Quang Phu officials based on the family situation. We can't cover all those in need, but we can help those in the most critical situations.
The first order of business is to unload the chickens, feed and waterers/feeders. With the chickens being quite confined, time is of the essence.
Unloading Feed, Chickens, and Waterers/FeedersEach recipient gets 50 21-day-old chickens, a 55# bag of feed, a waterer, a feeder, and additives for the water. A representative from the poultry company explained the basics of care to the grouped recipients.

Without further delay, we began distribution. The recipients were eager to get their chickens and supplies, then head for home. One crate contained 25 chickens, so each received 2 crates.

As each person received his/her chickens and supplies, it was time to load up and hit the road. Those crowded chickens needed to get home and be turned loose. It's amazing how these folks can manage hauling everything with bicycles and motorbikes.
These chickens breathe hope and security into the recipients' lives. YOU make it possible, folks.
