March 27 Hue 5 AM

Via van from DaNang airport I arrived at my Hue hotel just after 9 PM Tuesday.  Khanh and his wife, Trang, arrived a short time later by motorbike to say hello. The streets and small restaurants were alive with activity. More and more tourists from all over the world are discovering Vietnam.

After walking the streets for a couple hours yesterday morning, I retreated back to my hotel room. Still weary from the long journey from Alaska, I laid down in bed and slept until 8 PM. It was a day to rest up and settle in.

Resting is now over. Today things are kicking into gear. Khanh will pick me up at 7:30 AM at my hotel for a day of distributing 1,500 chickens. 15 poor families from Huong Van village and 15 from Quang Phu village will receive 50 chickens each, along with a 55# bag of feed, a waterer, and a feeder. The village officials and a Red Cross representative have selected the families most in need. The villagers are quite accomplished in transporting goods by bicycle and motorbike. You'll see. I'll have photos for you.

Well, it's going on 5 AM and time to rise and shine. It's Poultry Day in Vietnam!😀
